CAFERWA S.A.R.L. is a leading coffee exporting company registered and operational in Rwanda since 1995. With a dry mill station in Kigali, Rwanda, the company has a parchment processing capacity of 5 metric tonnes per hour.

From 1995, the company has been exporting semi washed Arabica coffee but in 2003 decisions were made to go into export of high value quality coffee - the specialty coffee.

Currently, the company has four washing stations, of which three were built this year and will be fully operational next year. In 2003, Caferwa S.A.R.L. bought the biggest coffee washing station in Rwanda with a capacity of 500 tonnes of parchment coffee. There is hope that close to 600 tonnes of export quality Grade A coffee will be produced by 2008.

We have also succeeded in building long term relationships with our coffee buyers. One of them is currently engaged in a school building project to improve the education standards in the local community.

Our Goal and Vision

Our goal is to meet our clients’ demands by providing them with coffee of the highest quality on time and our vision is to be the leading exporter of high quality coffee in Rwanda.

Our coffee is characterised by clean acidity, full body, flavour, chocolate and fruit aromas. These are attributable to volcanic soils, high altitude, favourable rainfall and temperatures all the year round.

The climate is neither too hot and nor too cool, with well distributed rainfall through the year.

Our coffee is processed under new processing techniques at washing stations to ensure the best quality and coffee beans are sorted by experienced women.

Operations:

We export high quality coffee to different countries in Europe, USA and Asia. We also help farmers in coffee quality improvement. We own a dry mill station, for hulling, grading and packing coffee ready for export. We have a well equipped cupping laboratory for quality testing. After cup tasting, we send samples to international market. We also roast and grind coffee beans for local market consumption.
